Subject: I hate Zombies...

In fact I'm scared of zombies. There's even a name for what I have: ambulothanatophobia. Nothing else scares me like the thought of the living dead.

So, I thought, what better time to tackle my fears head on than on this day, Halloween?

Putting yourself in the 'zone', confronting the fear is one way. So I watched George A. Romero's most recent offering, Diary of the Dead and had nasty dreams for the rest of the week.

I'd also heard one way to tackle a fear is to make fun of it... perhaps at today's world record attempt (Thriller music video) zombie style dance-a-thon I can overcome my irrational phobia? But then I may get a fear of synchronized choreography and that would never do.

Perhaps knowing how to defend myself against the inevitable end of the world apocalyptic doom would help? Best enroll at the Zombie Combat Club then.

I was looking for online 'games' of zombies to perhaps play my fear away. I'm sure there are some out there. Whatever you do though, don't make the mistake I just did by looking at a Zombie Infection Simulation website. Just remind yourself: it's only a simulation, it's only a simulation...

But I'm more of a bookworm than an action man, so I may have to settle for the self-help path with a classic like The Zombie Survival Guide.

But let's not go all bash the living dead crazy here. Let's consider the poor zombie and it's plight. It can't help being a shuffling, moaning, rotting animated corpse now can it. If you know a zombie that's being picked on, perhaps point them tell them to look at this public information film.

What was that moaning shuffling sound?

I'll just go and check. You stay here.
