The Effie Index identifies and ranks the most effective agencies, marketers, brands, networks, and holding companies by analysing finalist and winner data from Effie Award competitions around the world. Announced annually, it is the most comprehensive global ranking of marketing effectiveness.
Thoughtbubble took on the Effie Index in 2014 with the remit to improve the sites design and functionality. The old site template was rigid and non-responsive. The challenge was to build data rich site that would translate onto a mobile device. To do this, we built a site from scratch, which was 'mobile first'. All of the complex ranking data that you could view on the old desktop device would be available on your mobile phone. This required a complete redesign and rebuild. Our in-house design team set about designing a template that followed the Effie brand guidelines with a clean, easy to navigate structure in which the ranking data is as easy to view and analyse as possible.
The Effie Index system's data originates from multiple (45+) unrelated sources globally. This data is consolidated and aggregated data models are built out for analysis and to drive the online website. Numerous algorithms were developed to assign scores/rankings to the dataset based on multiple data points.
